• Juhi Srivastava has joined the group as a research scholar in dual award PhD program between IIT Kharagpur and University of Manchester (July 2021).

• Our group leader Dr. Sumantra Mandal has been honoured with the "Best Teachers Award" in IIT Kharagpur for the subject:  'Deformation Behavior of Metals'; This is the fourth successive time he has received this award. (June 2019)

• Our group leader Dr. Sumantra Mandal has been honoured with the "Best Teachers Award" in IIT Kharagpur for two subjects: 'Grain Boundaries and Interfaces' & 'Deformation Behavior of Metals', out of which 'Grain Boundaries and Interfaces' has featured in two separate categories.
